After a scenic 2-hour drive through Lazio and Umbria, we'll arrive in Todi, a charming hamlet with history going back to very ancient times. - Perugia: After about a 45-minute drive from Todi, we'll arrive in Perugia.
Overlooking the Tiber River and the rolling, green terrain of Umbria sits Perugia, one of the oldest and most beautiful cities in Italy. Umbria’s capital city today is a vibrant university town, attracting jazz enthusiasts and chocolate lovers from around the world thanks to the internationally acclaimed Umbria Jazz Festival and Perugina chocolate. - Lake Trasimeno: On the way from Perugia to Castiglione del Lago, we'll travel along the beautiful shores of Lake Trasimeno.
The lake is not only lovely but also historic. In 217 BCE, during the Second Punic War, Hannibal crossed the Alps with his elephants to defeat the Roman army. - After a 40-minute drive around Lake Trasimeno, we'll arrive in Castiglione del Lago.
