Once upon a time, there was an island, surrounded by one unique sea. For more than 9 million years this sea splashed on the coasts of our island, until it dried out completely, and disappeared. Our island became a mountain, and the Sea became a fertile Pannonian plain.
This may be the beginning of a story that would rock children back to sleep, but it is merely an entrance into the vast realm of tales beyond the myths and legends surrounding our island-turned-mountain. Fast forward to the present, and our mountain, once an island is called Medvednica Mountain, and at its foot proudly stands the city of Zagreb, Croatia’s Capital.

- Ban Josip Jelacic Monument: Our licensed guide will meet you behind the Ban Jelacic Monument where the Zagreb Hike Tour will start
- Medvednica mountain (Sljeme): Your guide will take you by the mountain tram to the Cable car station, from where you will climb the mountain summit and check views from the TV tower. After visiting the TV tower, you will hike down the hill for around two hours from Sljeme Peak to Medvedgrad Fort.
- Medvednica Nature Park: After you leave the mountain summit, the real hike starts. You will need around two hours to the Medvedgrad fortress. In the fortress, you will have one big break for a photo session on the walls and to prepare for the last climb.
- Medvedgrad: Thrilling Medvedgrad fortress in the heart of the Nature Park will let you enjoy the city's most scenic views. This 13th-century fortress tale will take on a journey through eons of history and also provide a rest on our hiking part.
- The second part of the hike will be through the canyon of the Kraljevec Creek on the educational trail which will show you how the mountain once was an island.
- To end the hiking part you will taste some traditional dishes in a three-course meal, served in one of the most famous Zagreb restaurants.
