Start your half day tour in Karnak Temples, the greatest example of worship in history and was dedicated to the God Amon, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu. It was constructed from the beginning of the Middle Kingdom about 2000B.C to 300 B.C.
- Luxor Temple: Then move to Luxor Temple. It was built by Amenhotep III in 18th Dynasty , New Kingdom about 1400 B.C and it was completed by Ramesses II during the 19th Dynasty about 1300 B.C. King Ramses II was the most famous king in the 19th Dynasty. He ruled Egypt for about 67 years. It was dedicated to the great god Amun-Ra, his wife Mut and their son Khonsu representing the Theban triad. The Obelisk of Ramses II in front of the 1st Pylon is one of the most important architectural elements in luxor temple. The second obelisk was given by Mohamed Ali pasha as a gift /present in 1836 to the french king Louis Philip. The latter gave him a clock that does not work , decorating the bronze tower at Mohamed Ali pasha mosque in the citadel in Cairo. The second obelisk is now standing in paris, la place de la concorde. You go back to your hotel. Luxor has so much to see, feel, eat and buy so if you have time and want to add more to your itinerary .
